Amal Clooney and George Clooney were recently seen enjoying a sunny day in the South of France on Feb. 3, accompanied by a delightful new member of their family – a lovable St. Bernard puppy named Nelson.
Known for their philanthropic efforts and affection for animals, the couple charmed onlookers as they walked through the streets. Amal cradled the puppy in her arms while George held onto the leash, creating a heartwarming scene.
Captured in snapshots from their leisurely stroll, the adorable canine appeared content, gazing into the distance while nestled in the arms of the 46-year-old human rights lawyer. Amal radiated effortless elegance in a brown dress paired with stylish black boots and oversized sunglasses. Meanwhile, George, the 62-year-old acclaimed filmmaker behind The Boys in the Boat, kept it casual in a classic black jacket paired with blue jeans.
Nelson, the newest member of the Clooney family, follows in the pawprints of previous St. Bernard resident Rosie, named in honor of George’s late aunt, Rosemary.
Recognized for his steadfast dedication to animal rescue, the Ocean’s Eleven actor has a rich history of bringing furry companions into his life, often accompanying them on his global adventures.
Among his cherished pets, he previously shared his home with Einstein, a cocker spaniel who passed away in 2017, and the famous Max, a pig who left a mark before passing in 2006. Since then, George and Amal have embraced Millie, a basset hound, and Louie, another adored spaniel, into their warm and loving family.
Apart from their love for pets, the Clooneys are devoted parents to 6½-year-old twins, Ella and Alexander. George recently shared his thoughts on the joys and challenges of being a father in a candid conversation with Michael Strahan on Good Morning America.
Reflecting on raising twins, George shared, “When you have twins and you’re raising them at the same time, the same way, and they’re completely different human beings, you realize how little control you have over who they become.” Despite trying to set boundaries and instill values, George acknowledged the unique personalities of each child.
The proud father marveled at the distinct personalities of Ella and Alexander, appreciating the individuality they bring. “They come out with an opinion, and it’s amazing to watch how different my kids’ personalities are,” George remarked, emphasizing the fascinating journey of parenthood.
