Jennifer Cafarella Biography
The Institute for the Study of War (ISW)’s Director of Strategic Initiatives is Jennifer Cafarella.
Ms. Cafarella collaborates closely with the President, Board of Directors, and other senior executives of ISW to conceptualize, define, and create new programs that will support the Institute’s long-term growth.
In addition to leading the Institute’s Geopolitical Risk Analysis practice, Ms. Cafarella is an ISW National Security Fellow. Her work expands on the open-source research that ISW has done on current and possible crises in the Middle East, Russia, China, and the Ukraine.
She frequently provides policymakers and senior military commanders with advice on the risks the US and its allies must deal with. Additionally, she educates investors and financial services firms on geopolitical forecasts and global risk.
Numerous other organizations have honored Ms. Cafarella’s work, notably through fellowships at King’s College in London and the International Centre for the Study of Radicalization at George Mason University.
Recently, Ms. Cafarella was chosen to receive the “40 under 40” honor from the Middle East Policy Council in 2023. She is a named Cafarella. internationally recognized expert on the conflict in Syria and al Qaeda and has testified at Congressional hearings on these challenges.
Ms. Cafarella frequently makes appearances in broadcast media and has appeared live on Fareed Zakaria GPS on CNN and other well-known networks.
She routinely gives keynote addresses at significant international gatherings in the US, Europe, and the Middle East. Numerous publications by Ms. Cafarella have been published, such as “Russia’s Dead-End Diplomacy in Syria” and “Confronting the Russian Challenge: A New Approach for the U.S.” Major media sites like Foreign Affairs Magazine, the Washington Post, the New York Times, and others have published her writing.
Ms. Cafarella had worked for ISW for six years, including as the department’s research director, before holding the position of chief of staff from 2021 to 2022.
Ms. Cafarella guided ISW as the Chief of Staff through a period of transformational transition that included asymmetric growth and the introduction of numerous new initiatives.
She is a graduate of the Hertog War Studies Program at ISW and the inaugural Evans Hanson Fellow of the Institute, which supports exceptional War Studies Program alums and aims to foster the development of the next generation of national security leaders.

The “roasting sessions” videos that John Whitfield, better known online as DC Young Fly, posts on Instagram and Vine have made him a household name. Whitfield is an American internet personality, comedian, actor, host, rapper, and singer-songwriter.
He has been a recurrent cast member of the MTV, VH1, and MTV2 comedy series Wild ‘N Out since Season 7. In addition, from 2017 to 2018, he served as one of the primary hosts for TRL’s return to MTV.
He’s also well-known for co-starring in the podcast “85 South Show” with Chico Bean, Karlous Miller, and former cast member Clayton English.
Biography
DC Young Fly amassed a sizable fan base because to his “roasting celeb” videos on Instagram and Vine, in which he would tell his “target” to “bring dat ass here boi,” roast them, and then add “faawwkk you mean” to close the roast.
Celebrities like Kevin Hart, Michael Blackson, Lebron James, Chris Tucker, and others have endorsed him as a result of his videos.
He was named “Rookie of the Year” in his first season of the improv comedy series Wild ‘N Out on MTV2 in 2015, and he later joined the cast as a regular.

He launched the “DC Comedy Exchange” improv comedy club in Miami Beach, Florida, in 2021. In movies like She Ball, For the Love of Money, Envy: Seven Deadly Sins, and Miracles Across 125th Street, he made appearances. Additionally, he had a cameo in the Starz program BMF.
He appeared in 2022’s House Party, a 2023 remake of the 1990 movie of the same name, starring Jacob Latimore, Tosin Cole, Karen Obilom, Melvin Gregg, and Rotimi.
House Party was released on January 13, 2023. DC’s longtime lover Jacky Oh passed unexpectedly on May 31, 2023, allegedly as a result of a “Mommy Makeover” with a physician in Miami, Florida.
