Folorunso Alakija was born on 15 July in year 1951 to Chief L. A. Ogbara family in Ikorodu at Lagos State. She attended her Nursery education in lagos at Our Ladies of Apostles within the year of 1955 to 1958 and later travelled at the age of 7years old to the United Kingdom to start primary education at Dinorben School for Girls in Hafodunos Hall(Llangernyn) between the year of 1959 to 1963.

she returned to Nigeria she attended Muslim High School at Sagamu in Ogun State. After schooling in Muslim High school she later returned to abroad for her secretarial studies at Pitman’s Central College in London.
