SMEDAN Charges SMEs On Business Managerial Skills

The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) has urged small and medium entrepreneurs in Osun to sharpen their business managerial skills for their business growth.


It’s Director General, Dr Dikko Radda, represented by Mr Sleiman Abubakar, gave the advice in a workshop organised for small and medium scale businesses in Osogbo on Wednesday.


Radda said that the Federal Government had invested a lot to empower grassroots business organisations in the overall interest of Nigerians and to also to check unemployment.

He said: “the agency would continue to facilitate the access of micro, small and medium entrepreneurs and investors to all resources required for their development.’’


Radda said that grassroots entrepreneurs lacked the necessary managerial skills and financial accountability paramount for any successful business.

He urged participants to put to use the necessary managerial skills needed for effective business management so as to be successful in their respective outfits.


Earlier, Mr Benga Komolafe, the National General Secretary of Federation of Informal workers Organisation of Nigeria (FIWON, Mr Gbenga Komolafe, had praised the SMEDAN boss for the initiative in exposing the entrepreneurs to managerial business skills.


Komolafe urged participants to take the knowledge acquired to their respective states for effective use in order to add meaning to the lives of the ordinary Nigerians.


No fewer than than 50 persons from the six states in the South-west which are Omo, Ondo, Osun, Ekiti, OGUN and Kwara participated in the workshop.


The one-day workshop was organized in conjunction with FIWON.
