Man arraigned for allegedly stealing kolanuts
A 25 year-old man, Adeleye Ajayi has been arraigned by the police before a Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ilupeju-Ekiti, in Oye Local Government Area, on Thursday, for allegedly stealing Kolanuts valued at N120,000.
Ajayi, was arraigned on a two-count charge of conspiracy and theft.
The Prosecutor, Insp., Mathew Omale told the Court that the accused and three others now at large, conspired on April 28 at Agbomole Oke Farm, Illupeju-Ekiti and stole kolanuts.
According to the prosecutor, the offence contravened Sections: 516 and 390(9) of the Criminal Code Volume 1 Cap C16 Laws of Ekiti State,2012.
After the charges were read to him, Ajayi , pleaded not guilty after which the defence counsel, Mr Gbenga Bejide, prayed the court to admit the accused to bail on liberal terms.
Chief Magistrate Joseph Ayodele, admitted the accused to bail in the sum of N50,000 and two sureties in like sum before adjourning the case until June 20 for hearing.
