Joe Biden is a born American brought up in Scranton, pennsylvania and New Castle county, Delaware. He enrolled to studied in University of Delaware before he bagged his law degree from Syracuse University in the year 1968. After some years, he was elected as a New Castle county councilor in 1970 and later proceed to break a record by becoming the sixth youngest senator in American history when elected to the United States. He also held the position of Senate Judiciary Committee from 1987 to 1995 which has to deal with drug policy, crime prevention, and civil liberties issues. Biden led the effort to pass the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act and the Violence Against Women Act and oversaw six United States.

He does not drink alcohol because he has said “There are enough alcoholics in my family”.

The great American politician(Biden) was voted to the Senate position six times, making him the fourth most senior senator when he resigned with the mission to serve as Barack Obama’s vice president in which they won the presidential election back then in 2008. As vice president, he negotiations with congressional Republicans helped pass legislation including the 2010 Tax Relief Act which later resolved a taxation deadlock; the Budget Control Act of 2011 which resolved a debt ceiling crisis and the American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012 which addressed the impending “fiscal cliff”. He also led efforts to give the United States–Russia New START treaty supported military intervention in Libya, and helped formulate United States policy toward Iraq through the withdrawal of United States troops in 2011. After the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting he led the Gun Violence Task Force. The president (Obama) awarded Vice president (Biden) the Presidential Medal of Freedom with distinction in early 2017.

Biden has a stutter which has improved since his early twenties. He says he has reduced it by reciting poetry before a mirror but it has been suggested that it affected his performance in the 2020 Democratic Party presidential debates.

• The University of Notre Dame gave Biden the Laetare Medal, considered the highest honor for American Catholics on May 15, 2016.

• Biden received the Freedom of the City of County Louth in the Republic of Ireland on June 25, 2016.

• Obama surprised Biden by awarding him the Presidential Medal of Freedom with Distinction for “faith in your fellow Americans, for your love of country and a lifetime of service that will endure through the generations” on January 12, 2017.

• The University of Delaware renamed its School of Public Policy and Administration the Joseph R. Biden, Jr. School of Public Policy and Administration on December 11, 2018.
