Jide Kosoko was born on 1954 to Kosoko royal family of Lagos Island. He studied business administration in Lagos State at Yaba College of Technology.
He started his career in early age in 1964 with a television production Makanjuola. He has featured in so many Nigerian movies both English and Yoruba languages.
Jide Kosoko was brought up in Ebute Metta in Lagos State and acting as a profession was inspired to him by Ogunde he was working with the Ifelodun Traveling theatre troupe invited him to audition for a role in Makanjuola( a tele-movie) Kosoko accepted the invitation. He auditioned and was chosen for the role, play the role of a actor called Alabi in Makanjuola movie. Since then Jide Kosoko has continued with acting, he performed with the Awada Kerikeri group alongside with Sunday Omobolanle, Lanre Hassan and Oga Bello and had guest appearances on the T.V. Show, New Masquerade. He formed his own group theatre troupe in 1972.
